Most shops sell you a product and back-fill the strategy. We start with the control set — NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001 — and map exactly what your environment needs to satisfy it. Only then do we pick tools, because the right firewall or SIEM is the one that closes your specific gaps at a defensible cost. The result is architecture you can audit against a framework, not a licence you’re locked into. When the tool changes, the standard still holds.
